The story behind “Adhitthana”

This poem is a description of a typical meditation session

When the bell is struck at the end of the sitting, I find myself either surprised or relieved.

Often, about 20 minutes into the sitting, I begin to feel a gentle rocking

I don’t know if it is real or imagined. I do know that when it happens, the sitting will become deep. When it doesn’t I am restless and often in pain, and can’t wait for the bell.

Note: one of the meanings of Adhitthana is “Resolution”.
