Adhitthana

Starting now, as often before,
I enter my body, looking for more.
Determined to sit until I am free,
I enter my mind, determined to see.

My muscles are tense, a constant defense,
All is so quiet this side of the fence.
The rocking begins, I know I will stay,
My teachers before me, I know what to say.

A pattern appears, I’ve seen this before,
As many parts soften, many tense more.
My practice continues, and much is set free,
Even with more that I fail to see.

Until I can see no need for defense,
I’ll return to continue removing the fence.
The chiming begins, I knew I would stay,
My teachers before me, I do as I say.
